Discover Financial announces Gift Card Solutions.

Nov. 12 2008 -- FiCentive prepaid card and gift card provider, announced that it has signed an agreement with Discover Financial Services (NYSE: DFS), a credit card issuer and electronic payment services company. It allows Discover Network to offer prepaid and gift card programs for their customers as well as all partner sites. American Express has rolled out in recent months new gift cards for all occasions. We guess Discover is answering back with their own programs because of the surge in recent years. Under the proposal, FiCentive will work with Discover Network to create and build within a unit of Discover Financial Services. They will develop prepaid products that will run on the Discover Network in addition to providing all program management services. This holiday season has been predicted as a year of gift cards and prepaid credit cards. Last year millions of gift cards were purchased. We will let you know the totals when we get them.
